I was invited, along with Penn State's College of Education, by Apple Inc. to share my vision as it relates to supporting digital expression and to take part in a conversation related to one-to-one computing. I have worked hard over the last 18 or so months to make sure PSU is moving in the right direction as it relates to supporting faculty, staff, and students in the art of being digital. This presentation focuses on the infrastructure we have worked to establish on our campus as well as some of the results of our ongoing efforts in the areas of podcasting, blogging, and digital media creation.

Tomorrow I'll be presenting at the Open Minds series about Web 2.0 in the Higher Education Enterprise. This is a two hour session for people in PSU Outreach — I originally expected an hour and an audience of about 25 … we're now around 50 and the time has obviously grown. The presentation is a mash-up of a bunch of stuff I've done in the past with a little twist to the delivery. I want to be able to make the point that PSU is now in the middle of the Web 2.0 space and delivering quality services to our populations.
If you want to take a peek at the presentation, here is a 19 MB Flash version, and here it as a downloadable PDF.
I gave a talk at the ITS Forum yesterday with a colleague here at Penn State related to Podcasting and Penn State on iTunes U yesterday. Jimmy V focused on the hard core technology behind making the iTunes U system work in our environment, while I did a more general talk focusing on why we would do podcasting at the Institutional level, an update on the state of podcasting in general, and a full on demo of our iTunes U space. Reaction was fairly positive … at any rate here is a QuickTime file of the slides without audio or any real content, but there they are … there is a podcast and a videocast of the session being produced — I’ll link that when it is available.
